Descripción

Osamu Tezuka was a Japanese mangaka, director, screenwriter, storyboard author and animator born on November 3, 1928, in Toyonaka, Osaka Prefecture. He was also a licensed medical doctor, although he never pursued this profession.

With his drawings and stories, he was so instrumental in the success of the subculture that he was nicknamed the “God of Manga” or “God of Anime” and was often compared to the American animator Walt Disney.

Tezuka died of stomach cancer on February 9, 1989, at the age of 60. However, many of his works continue to inspire new anime and manga today.
