Kimio YABUKI (Persona)

Kimiko Yabukiis a Japanese anime director.

He studied at the Tokyo University of Arts. After graduating, he took a job at the film studio Toei Kyoto Studio. He first worked as an assistant director to directors Makino Masahiro and Yasushi Sasaki there. In 1962, he moved to Toei’s anime division, Toei Animation.

In 1969, he worked with the then-young Hayao Miyazaki on the anime “The Wonderful World of Puss ’n Boots”. He worked at Toei Animation until 1973 and then continued to work as a freelancer, continuing to contribute to some of Toei’s works.

Er studierte an der Tokyo University of Arts. Nach seinem Abschluss nahm er eine Stelle beim Filmstudio Toei Kyoto Studio an. Dort arbeitete er zuerst als Regieassistent von Regisseur Makino Masahiro und Yasushi Sasaki. Im Jahr 1962 wechselte er zur Anime-Abteilung von Toei, Toei Animation.

Im Jahr 1969 arbeitete mit dem damals noch jungen Hayao Miyazaki zusammen am Anime „Der gestiefelte Kater, Perix der Kater und die drei Mausketiere“. Er arbeitete bis 1973 bei Toei Animation und danach weiter als Freischaffender, wobei er weiterhin bei einigen Werken von Toei mitwirkte.
