Synopsis
One night, a childless couple discovers an infant in their barn. They see this as a twist of fate and decide to raise the child as their own, naming him Shirone. From an early age, Shirone shows that he would prefer to read and learn over chopping wood with his father and then selling it. Although his father is worried about his foster son’s future, he is happy that Shirone is growing up healthy.
On a trip to town, Shirone separates from his worried father and happens to meet a magician who is teaching a group of noble children the art of magic. Shirone, who has never seen real magic, can only watch in amazement. Thrilled, he decides to learn magic himself. But there is one big obstacle: only the nobility are allowed to study magic. Will Shirone still succeed in realising his dream?
