Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc (2005)

Keiichi Maebara is the new guy in Hinamizawa, everyone knows him because everyone knows everyone here. In the course of time, he learns that Satoko Houjou had a brother who disappeared without a trace years ago. She still hasn’t recovered from this incident and so it happens that Rika Furude asks Keiichi to fill this gap with Satoko until her brother comes back. Over time, their friendship grows closer and he notices how independent Satoko is for her age, but he also learns the story behind Oyashiro-sama, the curse that lies over Hinamizawa. This curse has already picked out Satoko’s family as victims and this may also be the reason for Satoko’s brother’s disappearance, or is there more to it than just a curse?

Keiichi Maebara ist der Neue in Hinamizawa, jeder kennt ihn, denn hier kennt jeder jeden. So bekommt er im Laufe der Zeit mit, dass Satoko Houjou einen Bruder hatte, der vor Jahren spurlos verschwand. Von diesem Vorfall hat sie sich bis heute nicht erholt und so kommt es, dass Rika Furude Keiichi bittet, diese Lücke bei Satoko zu füllen, bis ihr Bruder wieder zurückkommt. Mit der Zeit wird ihre Freundschaft immer enger und er bemerkt mit der Zeit, wie selbstständig Satoko für ihr Alter ist, doch lernt er auch die Geschichte hinter Oyashiro-sama kennen, den Fluch, der über Hinamizawa liegt. Dieser Fluch hat sich schon Satokos Familie als Opfer rausgesucht und dies kann auch der Grund für das Verschwinden von Satokos Bruder sein oder steckt mehr dahinter als nur ein Fluch?
