On the internet, Keima Katsuragi is known for being able to capture the hearts of all girls. However, this only applies to DatingSims because, in reality, he is only known as an “Otamegane” – and he is anything but fond of women, which is mutual. But, one day, Elsee, a female devil from hell, approaches him and demands to help her capture spirits that have escaped from hell. If Keima fails to capture all the ghosts, he loses his head. Apparently, the spirits hide in the hearts of girls … and they only come out when the girls fall in love.
Keima Katsuragi ist im Internet dafür bekannt, die Herzen wirklich aller Mädchen erobern zu können. Allerdings gilt das nur für DatingSims, denn in der Realität kennt man ihn nur unter dem Namen »Otamegane« und er ist dem weiblichen Geschlecht alles andere als zugetan, was auf Gegenseitigkeit beruht. Doch eines Tages tritt Elsee, ein weiblicher Teufel aus der Hölle, an ihn heran und verlangt, dass er ihr dabei hilft, Geister einzufangen, die aus der Hölle geflüchtet sind. Wenn Keima es nicht schafft alle Geister einzufangen, verliert er seinen Kopf. Anscheinend verstecken sich die Geister in den Herzen von Mädchen und sie kommen nur dann heraus, wenn sich die Mädchen verlieben.

Keima Katsuragi è un diciassettenne come tanti, e a scuola viene considerato il classico otaku sapientone. Nel mondo virtuale, invece, il ragazzo è un maestro dei videogiochi di simulazione di appuntamenti amorosi, tanto da essersi guadagnato il soprannome di «Dio della Conquista». La sua vita ordinaria, tuttavia, prende una svolta improvvisa quando, un bel giorno, il ragazzo riceve una mail in cui gli viene proposto di conquistare delle ragazze. Pensando si tratti di un nuovo videogioco, Keima accetta immediatamente, ma ben presto si rende conto di aver commesso un grave errore! Un giovane demone di sesso femminile, infatti, gli appare per informarlo che il patto stipulato prevede che Keima faccia innamorare determinate ragazze … nella realtà! In caso di rifiuto, la pena sarebbe la morte!
