K-On! (2007)

“K-On!” is about four Japanese high school girls who join the music club to save it from disbanding. However, they are the only members and at the beginning Yui Hirasawa, the main protagonist, has no experience in playing musical instruments or reading music. Eventually, however, she learns how to play the guitar and the four of them perform successfully at the school festival. From then on, Yui, bassist Mio Akiyama, drummer Ritsu Tainaka and keyboarder Tsumugi Kotobuki spend their school days practising and performing or just hanging out with each other. A year later, the club welcomes another guitarist named Azusa Nakano.

»K-On!« handelt von vier japanischen Oberschulmädchen, die dem Musikklub beitreten, um diesen vor der Auflösung zu bewahren. Sie sind jedoch die einzigen Mitglieder und zu Beginn hat Yui Hirasawa, die Protagonistin, keinerlei Erfahrung im Spielen von Musikinstrumenten oder dem Notenlesen. Schließlich lernt sie aber den Umgang mit der Gitarre und die vier performen erfolgreich auf dem Schulfestival. Von da an verbringen Yui, Bassistin Mio Akiyama, Drummer Ritsu Tainaka und Keyborder Tsumugi Kotobuki ihre Schultage mit Üben und Vorführen oder sie hängen einfach miteinander rum. Ein Jahr später heißt der Klub eine andere Gitarristin namens Azusa Nakano willkommen.

Tutto inizia quando l’energetica e instancabile Ritsu riesce a strappare alla timida e silenziosa Mio la promessa di formare una band sull’entusiasmo di un concerto degli Who. Una volta entrate al liceo, però, scopriranno che fondare un club per provare a scuola dopo le lezioni non è così facile! Le due riescono a convincere un’altra ragazza, Tsumugi, ad abbandonare l’idea di iscriversi al coro della scuola e a unirsi a loro. Con la presenza anche di Yui, nasce la band tutta al femminile Hokago tea time e l’avventura delle quattro ragazze nel mondo della musica ha inizio!
