Descripción

Kazé Germany is the main German label of the Swiss company Crunchyroll SA.

The label was originally founded as Anime Video by Anime Virtual S.A. The first VHS was released in 2000, followed shortly afterwards by the change to DVD. After the company was taken over by the Japanese group Shougakukan-Shuueisha in 2009 and incorporated into Viz Media Europe, the label was renamed Kazé.

After Kazé entered the German manga business in 2011, anime are distributed under Kazé Anime and manga under Kazé Manga.

In September 2019, the American company Crunchyroll announced that it had taken over Viz Media Europe and its subsidiaries such as Viz Media Switzerland. Even though Viz Media Switzerland was subsequently renamed Crunchyroll SA, the structure of the Kazé label did not change.
Annotation:
There is no direct connection to the eponymous subsidiary Kazé France, which was announced in 1995 and was supposed to release subtitled VHS in German.
