studio MOTHER Inc. is a Japanese anime planning and production company based in the Suginami district of Tokyo city. The company was founded in May 2019.
Originally founded by Voyager Holdings Inc., owner of the rights to the entire “Space Battleship Yamato” franchise, Bandai Namco Arts invested in the company in the same year. By now, the largest shareholder is Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc., which is also part of the Bandai Namco Group.
Until his death in 2022, Yukinao Shimoji was the president of the company, having previously held this position at XEBEC. Naoki Hiramatsu then took over the company’s management.
