Lupin III: The Pursuit of Harimao’s Treasure (1995)

Harimao was a bandit and robber who robbed the English in the East Asian region at the time of the Second World War. He was a kind of “Robin Hood” for the local population and, according to legend, hoarded and hid untold treasures.

Lupin’s goal is to find them. But he is not alone in his search for riches. The English nobleman Sir Archer is also on the hunt, together with his niece, because he needs the money.

Naturally, Lupin and Sir Archer get in each other’s way on their hunt. And joining them, a National Socialist organisation called “The Helma Brothers” also makes a play for the treasures.

Who is the mysterious leader Helmafrodith? What do the monkey, eagle and bear sculptures have to do with the treasure? And will they manage to uncover the spoils?

Harimao war ein Bandit und Räuber, der die Engländer zur Zeit des Zweiten Weltkriegs im ostasiatischen Raum beraubt hat. Er war eine Art »Robin Hood« für die dortige Bevölkerung und soll, der Sage nach, unsagbare Schätze gehortet und versteckt haben.

Genau diese zu finden, ist Lupins Ziel. Doch er ist nicht alleine auf der Suche nach den Reichtümern. Der englische Adlige Sir Archer begibt sich, zusammen mit seiner Nichte, auch auf die Suche, denn er braucht das Geld.

Natürlich kommen sich Lupin und Sir Archer auf ihrer Jagd in die Quere. Doch nicht nur das, auch eine nationalsozialistische Organisation namens »Die Helma-Brüder« wollen da noch ein Wörtchen mitreden.

Wer steckt hinter der geheimnisvollen Anführerin Helmafrodith? Was haben die Skulpturen Affe, Adler und Bär mit dem Schatz zu tun? Werden sie den Schatz wirklich finden?
