Saki: The Nationals (2014)

In “Saki: The Nationals”, the qualifications for the National High School Tournament are over. Kiyosumi High School has qualified, and the school also did well in the individual tournament, thanks to Saki and Nodoka. After a training camp with some of the other participating schools, the longed-for tournament is finally about to take place. It is an opportunity to meet all the acquaintances and friends again – and, of course, to beat them in the game.

The girls around Saki still have a little time before their first match begins – which the players use to remember events of the past two years and all the people who have helped them. But this calm before the storm only lasts for a short time; as soon as the tournament begins, the players from Kiyosumi High School have to realise that their opponents are by no means to be underestimated. Even Saki doesn’t let anything get her down and sticks to her goal: to be able to compete against her estranged sister, Teru, during the tournament.

In »Saki: The Nationals« sind die Qualifikationen für das Nationalturnier der Oberschulen vorbei. Die Kiyosumi-Oberschule hat sich qualifizieren können, und auch beim Einzelturnier hat die Schule dank Saki und Nodoka ordentlich abgeschnitten. Nach einem Trainingscamp mit einigen der anderen teilnehmenden Schulen steht nun endlich das ersehnte Turnier an. Es ist eine Gelegenheit, all die Bekannten und Freunde erneut zu treffen – und natürlich im Spiel zu schlagen.

Den Mädchen rund um Saki bleibt noch ein wenig Zeit, bevor ihr erstes Match beginnt – Zeit, in denen sich die Spielerinnen an Ereignisse der vergangenen zwei Jahre erinnern und an all die Menschen, die ihnen geholfen haben. Doch diese Ruhe vorm Sturm währt nur kurz; kaum hat das Turnier begonnen, merken die Spielerinnen der Kiyosumi-Oberschule, dass ihre Gegner keineswegs zu unterschätzen sind. Auch Saki lässt sich nicht unterkriegen und hält eisern an ihrem Ziel fest: während des Turniers gegen ihre entfremdete Schwester Teru antreten zu können.
