Paris, Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts. Gemeinsam mit dem reisenden Eisenwarenhändler Oscar Claudel erreicht ein junges, japanisches Mädchen namens Yune die Stadt Paris und soll in dem Familiengeschäft von Oscar ein wenig von der französischen Kultur lernen. Im Moment wissen nur wenige Pariser von ihrer Ankunft. Kleinere Hindernisse in der Sprache oder mit den ungewohnten Mahlzeiten sind für das unerfahrene Mädchen vorprogrammiert, doch das ist nichts, was sie nicht mit ein wenig Elan wettmachen könnte. Oscars Neffe, Claude, der das kleine Eisenwarengeschäft in der Galerie leitet, ist ein fähiger Handwerker, sieht Yune aber nur als missliches Mitbringsel seines Onkels. Ob er dem wissbegierigen Mädchen doch noch eine Chance gibt? Und welche Geheimnisse erwarten Yune noch in dem fremden Land?
