Das magische Element »Aer«, das die ganze Welt durchzieht, kommt oft als kristalline Form namens Blastia vor, welches von den Menschen als Energiequelle für ihr tägliches Leben benutzt wird und ihnen Schutz und Wohlstand bringt. Yuri Lowell und Flynn Scifo sind zwei »Knights«, die ihren ersten Auftrag in der Armee bewältigen müssen. Ihre Stadt Shizontania wird von einer schier endlosen Horde wildgewordener Monster heimgesucht und nur mittels eines durchdachten Planes können die beiden und ihre zwei Mitstreiterinnen Hisca und Chastel Aiheap die Stadt vor größerem Unheil schützen. Doch was hat es mit dem Waldsterben in der Region auf sich und warum werden so viele wilde Tiere zu solch schrecklichen Monstern?
