One Piece: La Saga De Chopper. El Milagro Del Cerezo Florecido En Invierno (2008)

Once Wapol ruled Drum Island, though when the island was invaded by the Blackbeard Pirates, Wapol fled and took the twenty best doctors with him. In the present, the Strawhat Pirates have only just escaped a storm when the next problem arises: Nami is down with a severe fever and urgently needs medical treatment, which, of course, no one on board can give her. They head for Drum Island, though at first, the island does not seem well-disposed towards them. At least Luffy and his friends learn about the island’s last doctor, Dr. Kureha. After an arduous and dangerous climb through freezing weather, Luffy meets not only the doctor but also the little moose Tony Tony Chopper, who was taken in by Dr. Kureha a while ago.

Meanwhile, the once fugitive Wapol also reappears to take over the island again; with his older brother Musshuru, he is already marching towards the castle. Luffy’s band of pirates and Chopper take up the fight, but the combination of Wapol and his brother is much stronger than anticipated.

Annotation:
“One Piece: Episode of Chopper Plus - The Miracle Winter Cherry Blossom” is not a strictly accurate retelling of the original Drum Island arc. Vivi does not appear in this version, but Nico Robin, Franky, Franky and the newer ship of the pirate gang, the Thousand Sunny, do. The character Musshuru was even created especially for this film by the author.

Einst herrschte Wapol über Drum Island, doch als die Insel von den Blackbeard-Piraten überfallen wurde, floh Wapol und nahm die 20 besten Ärzte mit sich. In der Gegenwart ist die Strohhut-Piratenbande gerade erst einem Sturm entkommen, da zeigt sich schon das nächste Problem: Nami liegt mit schwerem Fieber darnieder und braucht dringend ärztliche Behandlung, die ihr an Bord natürlich keiner geben kann. Sie steuern Drum Island an, nur scheint man ihnen auf der Insel zunächst nicht wohlgesonnen zu sein. Zumindest aber erfahren Ruffy und seine Freunde von der letzten Ärztin der Insel, Dr. Kuleha. Nach einem beschwerlichen und auch gefährlichen Aufstieg durch eiskaltes Wetter lernt Ruffy nicht nur die Ärztin, sondern auch den kleinen Elch Tony Chopper kennen, der vor einer Weile von Dr. Kureha aufgenommen wurde.

Währenddessen taucht auch der einst geflüchtete Wapol wieder auf, um die Insel erneut an sich zu reißen; mit seinem älterem Bruder Musshuru marschiert er bereits aufs Schloss zu. Ruffys Piratenbande und Chopper nehmen den Kampf auf, doch die Kombination aus Wapol und seinem Bruder ist wesentlich stärker als angenommen.

Anmerkung:
»One Piece: Chopper und das Wunder der Winterkirschblüte« ist keine haargenaue Nacherzählung des originalen Drum-Island-Abschnitts. In dieser Version kommt Vivi nicht vor, dafür aber Robin, Franky und auch das neuere Schiff der Piratenbande, die Thousand Sunny. Der Charakter Musshuru wurde sogar eigens vom Autor des Mangas für diesen Film entworfen.
