Black Jack: The Movie (1996)

Sinopsis:
Black Jack es un cirujano que, pese a no tener licencia para ejercer como tal, es muy solicitado para prestar sus servicios a pacientes que requieren intervenciones quirúrgicas especialmente complicadas y delicadas, las cuales realiza a cambio de grandes sumas de dinero. Un día Black Jack recibe la petición de una familia para curar a su hija, la cual está cerca de la muerte.

In “Black Jack: The Movie”, unlicensed doctor Kuroo “Black Jack” Hazama receives a lucrative offer from the reserved Joe Carol Brane, but only if he accepts will he learn the details of the job. His hesitation proves problematic when Pinoko is taken hostage by Joe. The legendary doctor is confronted with the disease known as Moira – one that could be dangerous to all humanity in its own right.

A significant amount of people suffering from this disease have previously achieved almost inhuman feats – be it athletic or intellectual. As much as the success of these “Super Humans” may have caused worldwide astonishment, the subsequent deterioration is terrible: massive, painful spasms coupled with a rapid deterioration of the internal organs. Together with a team of doctors, Kuroo must now find an antidote, but on the one hand, time is pressing considerably and on the other hand, the whole affair is by no means a mere whim of nature …

Sein Zögern erweist sich als problematisch, als Pinoko durch Joe als Geisel genommen wird. Der legendäre Arzt wird mit der als Moira bezeichneten Erkrankung konfrontiert – eine, die für die gesamte Menschheit gefährlich werden könnte.

Eine erhebliche Menge von Menschen, die an dieser Krankheit leiden, haben zuvor nahezu unmenschliche Leistungen vollbracht – seien es sportliche oder intellektuelle. So sehr der Erfolg dieser »Supermenschen« auch für weltweites Erstaunen gesorgt haben mag, so schrecklich ist der spätere Verfall: massive, schmerzhafte Spasmen gepaart mit einem rapiden Verfall der inneren Organe. Gemeinsam mit einem Ärzteteam muss Kuroo nun ein Gegenmittel finden, doch einerseits drängt die Zeit erheblich und andererseits ist die ganze Angelegenheit beileibe keine bloße Laune der Natur …
