The Tatami Time Machine Blues (2022)

The group of students from the prequel series “The Tatami Galaxy” around the nameless protagonist Watashi experiences some turbulent days here, as Ozu, who calls himself his friend but is actually only good for trouble, manages to tip a bottle of Coke over the remote control of the air conditioner in the latter’s room, causing it to be irrecoverably lost. Unluckily, there is no manual control, so it seems he is now facing a hot summer. Akashi, whom the protagonist has had his eye on for some time, arrives at the dormitory with her film crew, and the following day, they discover a strange thing in the junk that can obviously only be a time machine. In an attempt to overcome the unbearable heat, they then decide to test this thing and rescue the remote control, which had been demolished the day before, just in time to save it from Ozu’s clumsiness. However, no one has any idea of the problems they will get into and the widespread confusion this action will cause.

Das Häufchen Studenten aus der Vorgängerserie »The Tatami Galaxy« um den namenlosen Protagonisten Watashi erlebt auch hier einige turbulente Tage, da Ozu, der sich als sein Freund bezeichnet, aber eigentlich nur für Scherereien gut ist, es schafft, in dessen Zimmer eine Flasche Cola über die Fernbedienung der Klimaanlage zu kippen, sodass diese unrettbar verloren ist. Leider ist eine manuelle Bedienung nicht vorgesehen, also scheint ihm nun ein heißer Sommer bevorzustehen. Da fällt Akashi, auf die der Protagonist schon seit längerem ein Auge geworfen hat, mit ihrer Filmcrew im Wohnheim ein, und am folgenden Tag entdecken sie im Gerümpel ein seltsames Ding, das augenscheinlich nur eine Zeitmaschine sein kann, und um der unerträglichen Hitze abzuhelfen, beschließen daraufhin, dieses Ding zu testen und die am Vortag demolierte Fernbedienung rechtzeitig vor Ozus Ungeschick zu retten. Allerdings ahnt da noch keiner, in welche Probleme sie sich damit begeben und welche weitreichenden Konfusionen diese Aktion auslösen wird.
