Golden Kamuy 2 (2018)

“Golden Kamuy 2” continues with the story of Saichi Sugimoto and Asirpa. The two of them are still on their way towards the Abashiri Prison to question Nopperabo about the stolen treasure of the Ainu. The alleged murderer of several Ainu members has hidden the map to the treasure on the backs of some prisoners who have escaped in the meantime – in the form of tattoos, some of which Saichi’s group has already managed to obtain. Lieutenant Tsurumi, commander of the seventh division, is searching for the tattoos as well. He meets the taxidermist Yasaku Edogai who practices the bizarre hobby of producing clothes made of human skin. This gives the lieutenant an idea: He pays Yasuku to make skins with forged tattoos in order to confuse his rivals who are searching for the treasure as well.

Saichi, Asirpa and their allies are not able to prevent this plan in time. They are forced to work together with Toshizou Hijikata, the leader of the escaped prisoners, as well as Hyakunosuke Ogata, a renegade of the seventh division. The journey to the prison gets even more dangerous because not every ally is the person they claim to be.

»Golden Kamuy 2« setzt die Erlebnisse von Saichi Sugimoto und Asirpa fort. Die beiden sind noch immer auf dem Weg zum Abashiri-Gefängnis, um Nopperabo zum gestohlenen Goldschatz der Ainu zu befragen. Der angebliche Mörder etlicher Ainu-Angehöriger hat den Weg zum Schatz auf den Rücken mittlerweile entflohener Häftlinge verborgen – in Form von Tätowierungen, von denen die Gruppe um Saichi bereits einige erringen konnte. Doch auch Leutnant Tsurumi, Kommandant der siebten Division, ist auf der Suche und trifft auf den Taxidermisten Yasaku Edogai, der einer bizarren Leidenschaft nachgeht: Er fertigt aus menschlichen Häuten Kleidung. Das bringt den Leutnant auf eine Idee: Yasuku soll Häute mit gefälschten Tätowierungen anfertigen, um so der Konkurrenz die Schatzsuche zu erschweren.

Saichi, Asirpa und ihre Verbündeten können diesen Plan nicht rechtzeitig verhindern und sehen sich gezwungen, ausgerechnet mit Toshizou Hijikata, dem Anführer der entflohenen Häftlinge, und Hyakunosuke Ogata, einem abtrünnigen Soldaten der siebten Division, gemeinsame Sache zu machen. Die Reise zum Gefängnis wird gefährlicher, unter anderem weil nicht jeder Verbündete das ist, was er zu sein vorgibt.

«Golden Kamuy 2» continua le avventure di Saichi Sugimoto e Asirpa. I due si trovano ancora in viaggio verso la prigione Abashiri, per interrogare Nopperabo sul tesoro rubato agli Ainu. Il presupposto assassino di parecchi Ainu ha nascosto la strada per il tesoro in diversi tatuaggi fatti a dei criminali che nel frattempo sono evasi. Alcuni di questi tatuaggi sono stati decifrati il gruppo di Saichi. Però anche il luogotenente Tsurumi, comandante della settima divisione, è alla ricerca del tesoro. Egli incontra l’imbalsamatore Yasaku Edogai che ha una bizzarra passione: produce vestiti con pelle umana. Questa passione fa venire un idea al luogotenente: fa fare delle pelli con tatuaggi falsi per mettere in difficoltà la concorrenza.

Saichi, Aspira e i loro alleati non possono fermare in tempo questo piano e si trovano costretti a fare fronte comune con Toshizou Hijikata, il leader dei detenuti evasi, e Hyakunosuke Ogata, un soldato disertore della settima divisione. Questo viaggio verso la prigione diventa sempre più pericoloso, anche perché non tutti gli alleati sono ciò che fanno sembrare di essere.
