Detective Conan: Cuenta regresiva al cielo (2001)

In “Case Closed: Countdown to Heaven”, Professor Agasa and the Detective Boys around Conan take time out by going camping. On the way, they see the famous Twin Towers in the Nishitama district and are determined to go there the next day. When the professor and the boys carry out their plan, they meet Rachel and her father and take a guided tour. During this tour, Conan spots a suspicious car and is convinced it belongs to the Black Organization.

Conan barely has time to digest his experiences because the next night, a city council member is brutally murdered. Detective Mori and Commissar Meguire promptly take up the case, but the Detective Boys also want to investigate. They soon realise it is not just an ordinary murder case but a series of murders, and other victims were among the original suspects.

Conan even speculates on the Black Organization because of the car sightings, though his only clue is promptly invalidated by Vi Graythorn. However, she has been conspicuous several times by making secret, nocturnal phone calls and is increasingly causing doubts among Professor Agasa and the Detective Boys. Is she even involved in the incidents in the end?

In »Detektiv Conan: Countdown zum Himmel« gönnen sich Professor Agasa und die Detective Boys rund um Conan eine Auszeit, indem sie zum Campen fahren. Auf dem Weg sehen sie die berühmten Twin Towers im Bezirk Nishitama und wollen tags darauf unbedingt dahin. Als der Professor und die Jungs ihr Vorhaben umsetzen, treffen sie auf Ran und ihren Vater und nehmen an einer Führung teil. Während dieser entdeckt Conan einen verdächtigen Wagen und ist überzeugt, dieser gehöre den Männern in Schwarz.

Conan hat kaum Zeit, die Erlebnisse zu verdauen, weil bereits in der folgenden Nacht ein Stadtratsmitglied brutal ermordet wird. Detektiv Mori und Kommissar Megure nehmen den Fall prompt in die Hand, aber auch die Detective Boys wollen ermitteln. Schon bald müssen diese erkennen, dass es sich hier nicht um einen gewöhnlichen Mordfall handelt, sondern um eine Serie; dabei zählen die weiteren Opfer gar zu den ursprünglichen Verdächtigen.

Conan spekuliert aufgrund der Wagensichtung gar auf die Männer in Schwarz, doch sein einziges Indiz wird von Ai Haibara prompt entkräftet. Dabei fiel diese mehrfach durch heimliche, nächtliche Telefonate auf und sorgt bei Professor Agasa und den Detective Boys zunehmend für Zweifel. Hat sie am Ende sogar mit den Vorfällen zu tun?
