“Peach Girl: Super Pop Love Hurricane” is about the relationship problems of a group of Japanese pupils.

While at first glance she looks like a normal teenager – young, pretty and in love – taking a closer look reveals that she’s a walking disaster. Momo Adachi is ”blessed“ with an unusually dark complexion and with very light hair, both compared to most other Asians. Pretty, dumb and easy to get – that‘s what someone who doesn‘t know Momo might think! The fact that her crush Touji isn’t into ”this kind“ of girl doesn’t help either. Sae, Momo‘s only ”friend“, begrudges neither the pretty bag on sale nor said crush and puts every possible obstacle in her way. But Momo wouldn’t be Momo if she didn’t try to fight the seemingly inevitable.

»Peach Girl: Super Pop Love Hurricane« dreht sich um die Beziehungsprobleme einer Gruppe japanischer Schülerinnen und Schüler.

Was auf den ersten Blick wie ein ganz normaler Teenager erscheint – jung, hübsch und verliebt – wird beim zweiten zur wandelnden Katastrophe. Denn Momo Adachi ist mit einem für Asiatinnen ungewöhnlich dunklen Teint und sehr hellem Haar »gesegnet«. Hübsch, dumm und leicht zu haben, denkt da, wer Momo nicht kennt! Der Umstand, dass ihr großer Schwarm Touji nicht auf »diese Art« Mädchen steht, hilft auch nicht gerade. Sae, Momos einzige »Freundin«, gönnt ihr weder die schicke Tasche im Angebot, noch den erwähnten Schwarm und legt ihr möglichst jeden Stein in den Weg, den sie finden kann. Doch Momo wäre nicht Momo, wenn sie nicht versuchen würde, gegen das scheinbar Unvermeidbare anzukämpfen.
