In “City Hunter: Death of the Vicious Criminal Saeba Ryo”, “City Hunter” Joe Saeba finally gets another assignment after months of lying on his lazy skin, and it looks like a real bull’s eye: attractive news anchor Sayaka Asagiri of Mega City TV witnessed a murder and was recognized by the killer. Now she fears for her life, and rightly so, because an expected attack happens while still being in the City Hunter office. Joe, his assistant Kaori and Sayaka have no choice but to flee hastily into the confusing turmoil of the city.

Although Joe has long since lost his laughter, things get even worse: Sayaki’s TV station, of all places, broadcasts a video showing Joe kidnapping the famous news anchorwoman and sending two innocent people to the afterlife. Now, the trio has to run from the police as well. In the end, Joe has no choice but to enter the lion’s den, so to speak, to find out what is really behind these strange occurrences.

Der »City Hunter« Ryo Saeba erhält endlich wieder einen Auftrag, nachdem er monatelang auf der faulen Haut gelegen hat, und der sieht wie ein regelrechter Volltreffer aus: Die attraktive Nachrichtensprecherin Sayaka Asagiri vom Sender Mega City TV wurde Zeuge eines Mordes und vom Killer erkannt. Nun fürchtet sie um ihr Leben, und das zu Recht, denn der erwartete Anschlag erfolgt noch im Büro des City Hunters. Ryo, seiner Assistentin Kaori sowie Sayaka bleibt nichts anderes übrig, als überstürzt ins unübersichtliche Getümmel der Stadt zu fliehen.

Obwohl Ryo das Lachen längst vergangen ist, kommt es noch dicker: Ausgerechnet Sayakis TV-Sender strahlt ein Video aus, das zeigt, Ryo habe die berühmte Nachrichtensprecherin entführt und dazu zwei Unschuldige ins Jenseits geschickt. Jetzt muss das Trio auch vor der Polizei Reißaus nehmen. Letztendlich bleibt Ryo nichts anderes übrig, als sozusagen in die Höhle des Löwen einzudringen, um dort herauszufinden, was tatsächlich hinter diesen seltsamen Vorkommnissen steckt.
